Test Request Module
Test Request Module defines the needs of each new test. It provides clear objective for the test being performed and outlines the tasks assigned to all parties. Each test request contains fields that must be filled out by a requester to initiate a new test. TestValet validates each request before it is submitted and indicates to the user if mandatory fields are not completed. Various test types can be configured as templates for future reuse. Test Request Module sets the stage for organization of all meta data, recording of processes and documentation, and capture of important performance metrics for the continuous improvement of the test organization.
The Test Request Module outlines the requirements for each new test in ways that are understandable and often informative to both the testing engineer and the requester. It ties the test activity directly back to the product definition and specifications. In many instances, engineers can submit a test request without a specific interaction with the rest of the test organization due to the comprehensive nature of the test request screens. By providing detailed test requirements early in the test cycle, the user outlines a common goal for the test organization and eliminates a need for additional retesting.
Each new test request prepares the information for subsequent activities such as calibration, scheduling, or configuration management. It starts a long string of actions that enforce the pre-established processes and workflow within a test organization. Many of these subsequent workflow activities are automated, which speeds up the testing process and eliminates manual effort.
